What Lies Behind Emotional Fatigue?
2024 07 02Have you ever experienced emotional fatigue? What could be the deeper cause of this state? Often, it’s an unrecognized fear. We create an image of what a good life looks like to us and try to hold onto this "postcard" in our minds. We identify so strongly with this imagined ideal life that any change makes us feel insecure; we’re afraid of losing our status and identity. We fear that if circumstances change, we won’t be successful or happy. Each of us has our own "postcard" image, and it’s very difficult for us to let go of this vision.
Lack of energy, feeling sleepy, procrastinating on tasks, and being troubled by repetitive thoughts are all signals of unacknowledged fear.
What to do?
First, recognize what you’re feeling. When we don’t understand our emotions, we can’t dig deeper. It’s essential to acknowledge that we feel bad, then have the courage to admit that we’re afraid, and try to answer the question: what are we afraid of? When you name and accept this feeling, relief comes, allowing you to move forward.
