How does intuition work?
2023 12 05I understand intuition as a kind of life experience, knowledge and synthesis of that knowledge with something that is happening in the information field here and now. When knowledge and unawareness meet at a certain point, something new is born out of that connection - a project, an idea, or, simply, a new approach. Usually, the intuition is "triggered" when people are open and curious in a meeting, when they are not communicating from a position of ego, when the conversation is not dominated by a habit of judgement, but by a natural interest.
I have had some interesting moments of intuitiveness in my professional life. I get ready for work in the morning with a planned agenda, with a very clear idea of who I am going to meet and what I am going to do and then when I walked through the door, I had a strong feeling that I have to visit a particular client. Completely without prior agreement. Interestingly, it turns out that this client was already planning to invite me to a meeting. So the connection in the information field happened earlier. It seems, what difference does it make whether I meet earlier or later? But the difference is crucial: when I come to a client, guided by intuition, at a moment when the project is not mature yet, when the idea is not clear yet, then there is a possibility to start working on it together without predefined limits. I find these moments simply incredible. I sense a kind of intuitive principle.
When I experience a state of intuitive knowing, it's as if I'm looking at the big picture from above. That rise is replaced by a very strong focus, and then the picture expands again. I feel a strong wave of energy and indescribable joy. Sometimes that intuitive feeling is so strong that I can even see the final stage of a possible project and I am already experiencing it, even though there are no concrete steps or direction yet. Or the other way around: there's an idea, and I feel it stabbing, pressing, as if someone had thrown a cloth over my chest, and it's even hard to breathe... There are situations, when I'm looking for an answer, it's as if I don't feel anything anymore. Then I realise that I need a pause: to peel myself like an onion and find the place where the feeling came from.
When you are in a state of intuitive knowing, it is very important not to the doubt in - some alien structure that can stop you. You have to keep your attention on that new thing for a while, not to let it go, so that all the necessary elements, all the subjects come together in the course of the project.
During the pandemic, during the quarantine, I had let go of the inner feeling somewhere. Then we were faced with uncertainty, there was a lot of fear. I felt that the experience we had from previous crises would not help here. And then I fell into a state of mind where it seemed that I had to look for something completely new at any cost. It took time to realise that looking for something new when you are emotionally unstable, when you have lost your intuition, leads nowhere. And then there was a sense of peace, inner harmony because it became very clear that there are situations in life that you just have to wait out.
