Aesthetic Tasting with Eva Saikovska

Aesthetics, leisure culture, and objects: how demanding are we of their quality?

July 2024, Vilnius

The educational club "Aesthetics Sommelier" held its first aesthetic tasting, which took place in a modernist design setting at the "Studio.Home" studio.
Here, every object has its own story and special energy – we explored them with all our senses and reflected on why they attracted us. The salon hosted a conversation-discussion with the studio curator, Eva Saikovska. How do we choose objects for our surroundings and ourselves? How demanding are we of their quality and aesthetics? How do aesthetic experiences affect our body and brain? What is blindness to aesthetics?

The club will continue to invite people to aesthetic tastings, which will awaken and cultivate our aesthetic sensitivity and taste.

- Salon conversation-discussion with Eva about the impact of aesthetics on our environment. How do we choose objects for our surroundings and ourselves? How demanding are we of their quality and aesthetics? Why do some people choose designs and artworks from this period? What changes in their habits, daily life, and decisions when surrounded by aesthetics, quality, and history? What was the leisure culture of modernism? What is blindness to aesthetics? How do aesthetic experiences affect our biology and brain?
